March
Chalandamarz
A Local Tradition! If you’re in Scuol on the 1st of March, don’t miss Chalandamarz! This local festival, known from the tales of Schellenursli, is a beautiful celebration of spring. Schoolchildren, dressed in traditional costumes, ring their cowbells, and the whole town comes together in a joyful welcome of the season. It’s such a heartwarming event and a must-see for anyone who wants to experience local traditions.

Best (Easter) Lunch at Hof Zuort
A wonderful spring adventure is a hike through Val Sinestra to Hof Zuort. The quiet valley is one of the wildest corners of the Lower Engadin, with rushing streams, forests and dramatic mountain scenery. The small restaurant is a perfect place to stop for a simple regional lunch before heading back through the valley or directly to Vna.

Hike from the Alpine Institute in Ftan
This easy, 90 minute hike starts at the Alpine Institute in Ftan and leads you through scenic forests with stunning views of the surrounding peaks. Even if snow still lingers on the mountaintops, the trail is usually clear early in the season thanks to the sun-exposed slopes. Along the way, you’ll spot the first signs of summer—crocuses, dandelions, and other wildflowers beginning to bloom.

Beizli on Alp Laret for Lunch
If you’re up for an adventure, make sure to visit the Beizli on Alp Laret for lunch. Whether you hike or bike there, the journey is worth it. The views from Muot da l’Hom are absolutely breathtaking, and the downhill bike trail is so much fun (just be sure you’ve got medium-level skills). It’s a perfect spot to unwind and enjoy the great outdoors. There is also a direct trail from Motta Naluns that makes it accessible for everyone.
July
Summer Dip in Lai da Padnal
There’s nothing quite like a refreshing dip in Lai da Padnal in Ftan on a warm summer day. The waters are chilly, but it’s so invigorating, and the views of the surrounding mountains make it all the more special. It’s also a great spot for families, so pack a picnic, grill some sausages, and enjoy a relaxing day by the lake.

Explore the River Inn
– Rocky Beaches, Cold Pools & Rafting Adventures. If you’re looking for a little more adventure, the River Inn is the place to be. You can relax on its rocky beaches, cool off in its cold pools, or for the thrill-seekers, take a rafting tour down the river. You can even try fly fishing in its pristine waters. It’s a fun and refreshing way to experience the natural beauty of the area.

Nationalpark Bike Marathon
If you’re a bike enthusiast (like us!), don’t miss the Nationalpark bike marathon in August. Whether you’re participating or cheering on the riders, it’s an exciting event that brings together people from all over. The course winds through some of the most stunning landscapes, making it a day to remember.
October
Day Trip to S-Charl
For a truly unique experience, take a day trip to S-Charl. It’s an incredibly remote village, and it feels like stepping into another world—untouched and wild. You can easily reach it with public transportation (which is included in the Gästekarte Plus if you stay with us). If you’re feeling adventurous, you can even ride horseback to S-Charl. The ranch San Jon offers one-of-a-kind horseback riding trips, ranging from single-day excursions to multi-day adventures
November
Visit God da Tamangur
– Europe’s Highest Arven Forest. October is a perfect time to visit God da Tamangur, the highest arven forest in Europe. As the leaves change, the landscape transforms into a tapestry of reds, oranges, and browns. It’s an absolutely stunning sight, and the peaceful atmosphere makes it a wonderful place to connect with nature.

Best (Free) adventure near the hotel
You should visit Vastur in Sent on a winter day. This charming small guesthouse sits above the village and offers a beautiful terrace with stunning views over the Lower Engadin. It’s about a 90-minute winter walk directly from the hotel, making it a perfect little adventure. On snowy days they also provide free sleds for the ride down to Sent, which makes the return just as fun as the hike up.
January
Ice Skating in Sur En
There’s something truly unique about skating through nature in Sur En. It’s an experience I’ll never forget—skating surrounded by snowy landscapes is both peaceful and exhilarating. But a word of caution: this isn't your typical ice rink. The natural ice paths are a bit uneven, with small hills and dips, so it’s definitely more suited for those with a bit of ice-skating experience.
February
Night Sledding in Ftan
– A Winter Highlight. Looking for a magical winter adventure? Don’t miss night sledding in Ftan! Every Thursday evening during the winter season, the toboggan run lights up for an unforgettable ride under the stars. A fun and unique experience for all ages – perfect after a day on the slopes or before a cozy dinner.
