Üja has stood in the heart of Scuol for over a century. Once known as Traube, it welcomed travellers with simple comforts and mountain charm. We’ve kept that spirit alive — restoring what was here, adding just enough to make it feel like home today. Üja blends old and new, memory and movement — a place rooted in the past, ready for your next chapter.

We’re Simona and Claudio and we looking forward to your stay at ÜJA — born in the Rhine Valley, and together since high school, we’ve always been drawn to the Swiss mountains. After a decade of building our lives and careers in Zürich (Claudio in law, Simona in business), we felt a pull toward something slower, more grounded, and more meaningful.

On a ski trip in Lower Engadin, we stumbled across this place — and something clicked. It wasn’t just a beautiful valley. It felt like home. Now, we live here full-time with our Australian Shepherd, Jäx — who loves greeting guests almost as much as he loves snow.
ÜJA is our way of sharing this place with others. We’ve poured our hearts into creating a stay that feels easy and genuine — with little touches that make a big difference. Whether you're here to explore, rest, or simply be — we hope you feel at home.
