The Engadin is the perfect place to explore with a four-legged companion. Here are some of our favorite dog-friendly outings:

🐾 Swimming at Lai Nair —a beautiful natural lake where dogs are welcome in the water
🐾 Cable car to Motta Naluns —dogs ride for free, and alpine hikes start right at the top
🐾 Hike to the Zuort Farm —a peaceful valley hike that ends at a historic alpine farm
🐾 Walk to Vastur —breathtaking views from the terrace above Sent (and sledding in winter)

You can find details about each excursion below.

Cable Car Adventure: Motta Naluns

Dogs ride for free on the cable cars and chairlifts in Scuol.

This means that you and your dog can easily reach the high-alpine hiking trails around Motta Naluns without a long climb.

One of our favorite routes:

Motta Naluns → Schlivera → Mot da l’Hom → Alp Laret

This is a fantastic panoramic hike that's perfect for dogs.

At Alp Laret, you can treat yourself to a classic Kaiserschmarren on the terrace.

Go swimming with your dog in Lai Nair

One of the most beautiful places to swim with your dog in the Engadin is Lai Nair, near Tarasp.

Dogs are welcome in the water, and it's the perfect place to find some peace and quiet on warm summer days.

Important to know:
Lai Nair is part of a protected wetland area, so we ask that you,

  • stay on the official paths

  • to walk your dog on a leash.

  • Keep it under control even while swimming

The scenery is breathtaking and very peaceful—a hidden gem that even many locals love.

A beautiful hike to the Zuort Farm

Hof Zuort is one of the most extraordinary places in the mountains of the Lower Engadine.

There are several ways to get there:

• From Vnà —an easy hike with minimal elevation gain
• From Val Sinestra —a beautiful uphill forest trail

There is also a small street with parking spaces, but please note: It is a one-way street, so watch carefully for oncoming vehicles.

The reward is a charming historic farmhouse restaurant with a beautiful terrace—perfect for a relaxing stop with your dog.

Terrace Views and Sledding in Vastur

A very easy outing starting right from the hotel takes you to Sent and up to Vastur.

It's a beautiful walk with sweeping views across the valley.

Upstairs, you'll find a lovely terrace—the perfect spot for a drink while your dog relaxes in the sun.

In winter, there's an extra highlight:

You canrent sleds for free and sled all the way down to Sent.
